Bhatkal: Asadullah association wins taluk level cricket tourney

Bhatkal, Dec 3: Asadullah Association Bhatkal won the taluk level cricket tournament by defeating NSA Manki by 85 runs. The tournament was organized by Shaheen Sports club Murdeshwar.

Mohammed Zaid skipper of Asadullah team won the toss and decided to bat first. The opening batsmen made a record partnership in the tournament by scoring 153 runs, Furqan S M(84) and Shazir (56) were the top scorers for Asadullah team.

Finally after 20 overs, Asadullah made a target of 211.

Chasing the score of 212 Manki NSA  lost opening batsmen Mehtab and Huzaif soon as it begun. Noorul Ameen Sawda skipper of Manki NSA managed to score 40 runs and Faisal 22  runs.

The team managed a score of 126 runs in 18.2 overs for the loss of all their wickets. Ismail, Asjad and Qasim from Asadullah bagged two wickets each.

Asjad Hyder of Asdullah  was declared player of the tournament,  man of the match Furqan SM of Asadullah; best batsman title was given to Mehtab Manki NSA and the Asjad of Asadullah bagged the best bowler title.

Winners Asadullah Bhatkal were awarded a trophy with Rs 30,000, Manki NSA  the runners up of the tournament were given a prize

of Rs 15,000 along with a trophy.A total of 40 teams participated in this tournament which had began on November 9.
