Bangalore, Dec 4: The Karnataka Legislative Assembly passed the Bill, providing for replacing the Karnataka Town and Country Planning and Certain Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2013, which is popularly known as the ''Akrama-Sakrama” scheme for regularization of unauthorized constructions.

The Bill was passed at the Belgaum session of the Assembly on Wednesday seeking extension of the time limit for regularization of unauthorized constructions till date of promulgation an Ordinance issued on October 19, 2013.

The Bill empowers the State Government to prescribe the last date for receiving applications for regularization of unauthorized constructions in urban areas.

After the Bill is passed in the Legislative Council and secures the State Governor’s approval, regularization of illegal constructions in urban areas under the Akrama-Sakrama scheme can be approved.

Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said the Bill aimed for regularization of unauthorized structures in urban areas and would help a large number of middle class sections,

The State Government has sought to regularize constructions that have violated rules pertaining to the setback area and floor area ratio.

The original Akrama Sakrama bill was to regularize/legalize illegal layouts ,formed and gullible public being the purcg=hasers. In 2007, regularization fees was collected ,but returned ,since it was not accepted by the govt.
Is it not surprising that the present govt passes the same Akrama sakrama Bill regularizing illegal constructions?
The original problem of laks of the public who paid their entire savings to buy plots/sites from 1990 till date, remains INSOLVED!!!
The immediate responsibility of the present Govt is to bring in a legislation regularizing the illegal layouts.
Let the Congress govt realise its duty to tye public in all spheres of life.
