For a change, Mangalore too feels winter chill

For a change, Mangalore too feels winter chill

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Dec 18 : 'We do not feel the real winter in Mangalore' was a common complaint from either residents or people who came on vacation over the last few years. The weather in Mangalore, except during the monsoons, seemed the same all year around.

But it seems this week the winter has arrived in Mangalore as well as in Udupi district in all its glory. On Monday December 16 night, Mangalore recorded a chilly 16.2 degree celcius while in Udupi it was still low at 15.2 degree celsius.

Though during the day the sun shines as usual, the mornings are deliciously chilly and the nights bitterly cold. Over the last few days, cool breeze has been blowing during the day, keeping the weather pleasant. Freezing water greets early birds and complains of cold and sore throats have become common.

As Christmas season arrives, Mangalore is expecting a huge number of visitors from around the Gulf and the west for Christmas celebration.

People pray that this beautiful weather continues to be pleasant around the twin districts.

    Hi Anand,

Nice to hear about people’s joy and sense of happiness over the cool & pleasant climatic conditions prevailing in Mangalore. I hope the season will continue for further period to enjoy forthcoming events.

Since 1975 I have hardly been there in Mangalore during year end time because of my Bank job.

This seasonal weather conditions at least kept us away from political weather (I mean comments)

Some stupid people appear to be programmed to blindly 'disagree' to all and every comment. Otherwise there is no sense for disagreeing with this comment about the pleasant weather prevailing at present in our City. Or is it because of reference to Kashmir?

    Bhandarkar & Anand,

You seem to be in a great mood.

I am surprised to know that the temperature in Mangalore has fallen as low as 16 degrees Celsius.

Such weather used to be there during 60's & 70’, especially during Christmas & New Year time.

Good time to chill out. Enjoy the lovely weather with some warm up also .........

    All the best.

Here in Kuwait the temperature is almost 7 - 10 degree Celsius.

    @ Flavian, Mangalore,
The fall is my favorite time of year. I love the colors. The sun is out, you get warmth on your skin but there's the coolness of the breeze. It's really comfortable.
