Mangalore: Police test athletic skills at annual sports meet

Mangalore, Dec 19: Police personnel took time off from their busy schedules on Thursday December 19 to participate in the annual sports meet jointly organized by Mangalore city police and Dakshina Kannada district police at the district armed police reserve ground here.

The sports meet was inaugurated by Ananthakrishna, chairman of Karnataka Bank.

Addressing the gathering, he said, "Sports activities are essential for police personnel as it keeps them fit, which in turn will help them  maintain peace and curtail crimes in society."
  
He also added that sports meet is useful in identifying hidden talents and giving budding sportpersons a platform to prove themselves.

On this occasion police commissioner R Hithendra, DCP D Dharmaiah, DCP Para Shetty were present.

ACP Dr KV Jagadish welcomed.

The valedictory will be held on December 21 wherein IGP (western range) Pratap Reddy and Sujatha Reddy will be the guests.
