Puttur: Man attacked, stripped by group for talking to girl

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (EP)

Puttur, Dec 24: A group of people on Monday December 23 allegedly attempted to murder Salettur resident Jayarama Poojary, a quarry worker at Gadiyar in Kedila.  The group also snatched cash and other items found on him.

The attack is said to have been carried as Jayarama was speaking to a girl from another community.

The attackers Faizal, Riyaz, Wajid, Habeeb, Ummer Mestry and others, said to be belonging to a particular association allegedly stripped Jayarama and fled the place after carrying out the attack, apparently assuming that he was dead.

The seriously injured Jayarama Poojary was rushed to Mangalore's Wenlock hospital.  A case of attempt to murder and robbery was registered at Puttur town police station.

Quick action by the police prevented the situation from going out of control in the communally sensitive Kedila area. Nevertheless, the matter was slightly delayed as the information from the hospital had first gone to the Bantwal police station though the case falls under Puttur police station limits.

The police team led by Puttur town police inspector B K Manjayya barged into the houses of Faizal and Habeeb at Kedila and arrested them.

These guys were waiting just to rob someone and here they saw someone is speaking to a Girl and immediately acted.By the way why did they ran away? and the Girl he spoke did she tell what he wanted?all speculations. In Name of saving Girls they robbed him did he tell what he wanted from her?and why the communication between Police so bad. That case belongs to bantwal or orissa ,they can first attend where Need is at the same time they should call the particular Police Station and narrate them, instead of waiting to find out who is where so time is wasted.with cooperation can be a case better attended.

Raj Mangalore, who started this first ? Remember, every action has a reaction. In the meantime, I strongly condemn the idiotic act of the group who attempted to murder Mr. Jayarama. The people involved in this shameful act should be punished adequately for taking the law into their hands. Jai Hind.

I hope you guys know that the media themselves admitted that they misquoted(rather lied) about Modi's "every action has opposite reaction" comment
Truth is he never said that, he said "if there is no action then there will be reaction" promising the people of gujarat that "action" will be taken on those who burned the Godhra train.
Arundhati Roy who is a liar(there is video proof of her saying this) said that Modi said "every action has an opposite reaction" after the riots.
The truth is he said this "action reaction" statement before the Riots in DD speech appealing for peace

Law and order has completely collapsed under the Congress government in Karnataka.

15 days back, a family on its way to Kollur temple were waylaid, attacked and looted by a gang connected to Kerala.

4 days back, 2 students from a reputed college in Mangalore were kidnapped, taken to an isolated place, forced to pose indecently and blackmailed for 25 lakh's by a group connected to Kerala.

And when the police attempted to arrest a group member from Suratkal, they came under attack, injuring a sub-inspector in the process.

Can the congressmen protest now please?

Moral policing of any sort should be condemned. The attackers who belong to a particular community, can they vouch, they and their community members both girls and boys are not talking to other community boys and girls. This barbaric, uncivilized, Taliban act should be condemned and these attackers are not fit to live in modern liberal free Indian society.

Thanks to the police action. Request police personnel to nab of attackers swiftly but to show them, their own taste of their action. This should follow same to all irrespective of community, religion affiliation.

As per local newspaper 'Suddi Mahithi' online he was Jayaram Poojari not only talked to the lady but even went to her home where they barged & attacked him.

Wondering why people don't understand the present situation & trying to create clashes?

Talking and going some ones home is it a crime? if the girl had a problem she should have called police, who are these guys to interfere in girls personal matter, even there is no trouble to public or surrounding people by speaking to the girl or going her home. Your name is For Justice and speak for the Goons,,,,,, Change your name to 'for hooligans.

Talking & going to opposite gender's home is offence or not you have to decide yourself. You can argue only after knowing his intention to go home of a lady belonged to other communities, even myself don't know that. What I am trying to say is he was attacked after dragged him from that lady's home.

Earlier so many attacks reported from twin districts in regard to the mingling of opposite gender's/community youths.

So you decide yourself which one is right & wrong.

You may be for 'hooligans' but not me..

may be because no parties involved, use your common sense man. It is not necessary that every criminal belong to some party. But there are some criminals they are very proud to say they belong to an x y party, and then some other great people felicitate them !
