Mangalore: Police seize vehicles used in kidnap, blackmail of students

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (EP)

Mangalore, Dec 24: The police on Monday December 23 seized the cars and the bikes used by the eight accused who allegedly kidnapped a male and a female college students, forced them to indulge in sex acts and videographed them for blackmail.

The accused have said that one car belongs to Shameer, one of the accused, and the other to a doctor named Ahmed.  It is said that the accused had fled to Kerala in the cars after unsuccessful attempt to blackmail the students.  The doctor’s car was left at Manjeshwar and the police have seized it from there.

The accused are Shamsuddin (23) of Suratkal, Shameer (21) of Deralakatte, Iqbal (23) of Deralakatte, Rauf (22) of Deralakatte, Nawaz (28) of Mudipu, Nisar (18) of Manjanady, Harshad (28) of Deralakatte, and Sharfan Hussain (21) of Deralakatte

Sharfan is the first accused in the case.  He had come in Shameer’s car, taken the remaining six of them and prepared the plan for the blackmail, as per sources.

Shameer had fled to Suratkal via B C Road in his car after using it for the crime.  Police have seized his car in Suratkal.  They have also seized bikes used in Katipalla and Mangalore.

Police have inspected Ira village of Bantwal taluk and Kerala border area where the crime is said to have taken place.

The college students were kidnapped by the group on last Wednesday and blackmailed for ransom after the group allegedly forced them to have sex and recordered the act.  The female student was released by the kidnappers to get the ransom.  The student then lodged a police complaint through a lawyer but the kidnappers had escaped on getting information of the police raid.  They were however arrested later.

Some organizations are preparing to protest against the blackmailing incident.

Get hold of that quack Ahmed, what type of doctor is he, is he a qasai. All 8 should be made famous, let all their relatives know their act, in the end they themselves should commit suicide. Each and every police station their snaps should be displayed. Please, we dont need them in this society, just hang them and finish this chapter for good. Get their full history DW and keep on publishing all their acts.

According to Time of India, close to 1600 women were sexually assaulted, taped, blackmailed and raped again and again. This is arguably one of the largest modus operandi to perpetrate heinous sexual acts. Despite the magnitude of the crime, the silence of the media and some of the so called human rights watch and NGOs is deafening ! Where are those who go to the streets and go to media when BD or Rama Sena etc are involved in some trivial issues but are silent when a crime of this magnitude has been perpetrated ?

This is very small punishment, let the master mind bring his own sister and allow his companion to do the same act what they did for the innocent girl and her friend.

They knew of police raid in advance means that there is someone in the police department who is helping them and leaking the activities of police to safeguard such criminal gangs.
Yesterday these people attacked ordinary citizens no response was received so today they attacked police and again they wont get the death penalty for attacking the police as police are poor people working for wages tomorrow again seeing no harsh punishment these people will attack the court judge even !

Then minority groups will make a media statement " Chikka hudgarannu yaake volage haaki avara future haal maadtiri? Yuvaru bari Kovi hidkandu aata aadtidru ashte paapa bidi illdidre ee hudgaru naale Government ige bidudilla"

    Exactly...agree with you 100%.

Meanwhile I am unable to recall your same reaction when there were so many other 'deshdrohee' groups were arrested on different criminal activities.

We are having 100% energy to condemn if the criminals belonged to other communities but keeps quiet when it is from the same community!!! Isn't it a big tragedy???

Condemn the all evil acts irrespective of political/religious/etc...
