Mangalore: Fun Fiesta to mark Nach Sobhann's silver jubilee

Mangalore, Dec 27: If December is known for festivities and celebrations amidst the cold weather, Nach Sobhann, the world’s only proponent of Baila, is set to double the excitement. To mark its silver jubilee, Nach Sobhann is preparing for ‘Fun Fiesta 2013’, to be held here at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar here on Saturday, December 28.
Almost seven hours of packed show from 3 pm to 10 pm awaits the audience. The non-stop entertainment will include dance competition, baby show for children between the ages of two to six years, carols singing (Konkani and English) contest, and finally a traditional fashion show for the title of ‘Ms and Mr Kodiyal’, where the contestants will showcase their culture, walk the ramp in traditional attires and answer questions from judges. Each competition has almost ten entries. Winners will be awarded cash prizes, trophies and certificates.
Besides, the evening comprises lucky games, housie housie every hour, spicy chaats, food and beverages, DJ, request songs, auctions, crib competition, cooking without fire and the most favourite Santa Claus.
The organizers say it is one of the major events ever since the release of Nach Sobhann video album ‘Dance Masti’, audio album ‘Dance Hits’, ‘Dance Challenge 07’, state-level dance competition and most recently, the first all India level Konkani dance competition ‘Yaya Indya Mayaya’.
Nach Sobhann is a professional dance troupe which specializes in folk, western, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, jive, salsa, semi classical, Bollywood dance forms, to name a few. Established in 1989 as the dance wing of Mandd Sobhann, Nach Sobhann today is the world’s leading Baila dance troupe. In the last 24 years of its fruitful existence Nach Sobhann has given more than 500 performances in India and abroad.
