Mangalore, Dec 28: "Congress is a secular party with secular ideology and principles, hence it condemns instances of moral policing occurring in the district. Stringent action will be taken against communal forces that indulge in moral policing, irrespective of caste and creed. I have also discussed the matter with police officers and asked them to invoke Goonda Act against religious fundamental forces that indulge in moral policing. These communal activities cannot be tolerated," said district incharge minister Ramanath Rai.

He was addressing a press at the district Congress office here on Saturday December 28.

"Rumour mongers are the enemies of this country. Moral policing by minority communities spoils the image of their own community, and when majority community does it, the image of the entire country is affected," he added.

Condemning the incident wherein two students where kidnapped, forced to have sex and blackmailed at Deralakatte, Rai said, “It was an uncivilized act from goons. Police have taken proper measures and arrested them immediately. Yesterday I met various police officers and asked them to take stringent action against moral policing and communal activities irrespective of any caste, creed.

"During the home stay incident Sangh Parivar had defended the incident, but Congress is a party of secular agenda and we will never tolerate fundamental activities. If any police officer delays in taking action against these communal forces I will write to the home ministry. Home stay incident was a lapse in the system, as it took place in front of the police," he added.

When a journalist asked if the government had tried to reach out to the Deralakatte incident victims, Rai said, “Police have taken appropriate measures, moreover various Congress leaders as well as the party as a whole have condemned this brutal act. These kinds of incidents bring bad name to the district."

Ramanath Rai's statement:"Rumour mongers are the enemies of this country. Moral policing by minority communities spoils the image of their own community, and when the majority community does it, the image of the entire country is affected," he added.

As per minister, only majority communities belong this country, whereas minorities are belonging only to their community and not a country.

Mr. Rai..there is lot of difference in saying and action. We have been hearing lot of things but action being taken is just big zero. Our laws have been so liberal for corrupt and criminals. Why the bail was given to notorious criminals? Arresting and releasing them on bail doesn't make any difference. So many rapists and criminals are freely moving around and continuing their criminal activities with the help of politicians and influential persons. People will give a fitting reply in the next Lok Sabha elections...

Immoral policing in Congress rule and moral policing was happening in BJPS rule, somewhat both have to be condemned but people when justify their acts and never try to hide their identity , then they have something moral background on their act.And no government or media will never fool them.

Moral Police are becoming omnipotent in KARNATAKA. They are deciding on everything right from what citizens should wear what they should celebrate how they should move with the opposite sex, behavior in a discotheque, etc. This is barbarianism institutionalized. This moral police is nothing but a set of busy bodies with no BRAINS craving for publicity. It is time that police takes action.

In the event of moral policing, the Police is nabbing the victims and summoning their parents for counseling instead catching the culprit. Example was the recent incident at Pilikula.

The Deralakatte incident is an unpardonable act and culprits should be penalized based on the gravity of the crime. No one should dare to attempt to or even think of doing such things in future.

At last Jilla Ustuvari Mantri has opened his mouth.
Probably Aranya Mantri was in Aranya (Forest) and hence the Cry of the people of Tulunadu became Aranya-Rodhana for him and did not reach his ears.
Ramanath Rai was quick in removing Shanadi Ajitkumar Hegde from the post of Administrator of a Temple as soon as some dishonest priests complained against honest Shanaadi, but as regards heinous blue film episode of Derlakatte this thick-skinned Rai was not at all worried even though this gory news made headlines in the international media.
