Mangalore: Splendid event marks silver jubilee of Jamiyattul Falah

Mangalore, Dec 30: The silver jubilee celebrations of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Jamiyattul Falah concluded with a splendid ceremony at Town Hall here on Sunday, December 29.

Dr M Veerappa Moily, union minister of petroleum who presided over the function said, “Skilled youth are necessary if the country has to be join the group of superpower nations during the next 35 years.  The union government has come up with a project in this direction with the aim of training five crore youths during the next five years.

"When the backward class is content, the country can be termed as successful.  Though some are trying to divide communities, the citizens have remained united. The evil plan of vested interests has not succeeded," he said.

B Ramanath Rai, district incharge minister of Dakshina Kannada and U T Khadar released the jubilee souvenir on the occasion.

Minister Rai said that the one who wins everyone's trust is a true leader. "I love those who love me, but I also serve everyone by ignoring criticism.  The society will be beautiful only when all communities become strong.  There was a time when Muslims faced difficulty to go to school.  Now they not only go to school but are excelling in academics.  This is a positive development.  The Jamiyyatul Falah is fulfilling the message of Islam," said Rai.

Minister Khadar said that love for one's country does not consist of shouting slogans but working for the society. "The sacrifice of our forefathers is the wealth of the community.  The youth should follow in the footsteps of our forefathers," he added.

MLA J R Lobo, former minister B A Moideen, Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, chancellor of Yenepoya University, Ameer Akhtar Shaikh of NRCC, Arif Mohammed, president of Jedda unit, Shahul Hameed president of Damam unit, Mohammed Faruq president of Zubail unit, Salman Noor secretary of Riyadh unit, Shafiq Ahmed founder member of the organization, treasurer Ibrahim Kodikal, P B A Razak, secretary of silver jubilee welcome committee, treasurer Zameer Amber and Iqbal Pasha were present at the dais.

State Rajyotsava award winner Harekala Hajabba was felicitated on the occasion.  Muslim education institutes like Tauheed Institute of Gangolli, Greenview of Sullia, Crescent of Mangalore and Mountain view of Puttur were honored for the excellence in the education fields. 2PKM architects Mohammed Asif, Vibro Graphics Shahidurrahman and Gafoor were felicitated with mementoes.   

Jamiyyatul Falah president Saduddin M Salihi welcomed.  Student Umar Mohammed recited Qiraat.  Principal secretary Nazir Ahmed proposed the vote of thanks.

Professor Abdurrazak Anantadi compered the programme.
