Karkala: Blast in quarry - Cases filed against 3 including injured

Karkala, Jan 1: Police have solved the case relating to the explosion in a quarry injuring two workers and have arrested the injured workers and the owner of the quarry in the case.

The incident had occurred in survey No 271/1.  Ramakrishna Kamath, Mahesh and Chandru had allegedly started blasting rocks in an area of two acres belonging to the government and started business of black stones.

It has come to light that the trio had indulged in illegal mining in the property owned by the government.

Mahesh and Chandru were seriously injured in the blast that occurred in the quarry.  Seetarama, sub inspector of Hebri station had taken up the case. Village accountant Clarence Lester Cornelio was present at the place of the incident.
