Kundapur: Saloon owner dies in accident at Tekkatte

Kundapur, Jan 1: In a tragic incident, a saloon owner was knocked down by a vehicle just in front of his house at Kannukere Makkibettu at Tekkatte here on Tuesday December 31.

Prabhakar Bhandary (43), a resident of Makkibettu is the deceased.

Prabhakar who was running a saloon at Kome was at home as it was a holiday for the saloon.  He was about to leave for the market with a ten-year-old boy in his Suzuki Access scooter, when, just he emerged out of the gate of his house, a vehicle plying from Kome to Kannukere hit his two-wheeler and Prabhakar was thrown to a nearby ditch and onto the compound wall of his house.

He was seriously injured and rushed to Koteshwar private hospital which advised to take him to Manipal hospital. However, he died on the way.

He leaves behind his wife Mookambika, a son and a daughter. 

A case has been registered in Kota police station.
