M'lore: Sr Hilda Lobo celebrates silver jubilee at Taccode Church

Mangalore, Jan 2: Sr Hilda Lobo of the Sisters of the Charity of Nazareth (SCN), celebrated her silver jubilee recently at Holy Cross Church, Taccode. She had professed in May 1988 at Mokama, Patna, Bihar.

She is the eldest among the nine children of Mark Lobo and Irene Lobo. The main celebrant was Fr Gerald D’Souza and concelebrants were Fr Mark Castelino, parish priest of Taccode, Fr Joachim Fernandes, Fr Cyril Fernandes, Fr Vincent D’Souza, Fr Clifford Sequeira, and Fr Danzil Crasta. Fr Joachim Fernandes conveyed the Word of God.

The felicitation was held at Madonna House, Alangar, Taccode, in the presence of about 150 people.

There were 7 SCN sisters from Bangalore, Chikmagalur, Patna, and Mumbai. Also Bethany nuns and other nuns were present.

Arun Fernandes anchored the felicitation. The toast was raised by Fr Cyril Fernandes. Compliments were given by family and friends. Sr Usha Saldhana thanked the family of Sr Lobo on behalf of the Sisters of the Charity of Nazareth.

Sr Lobo thanked her family and all the people present. Various entertainment programmes were prepared and performed by Sr Lobo’s family. Sr Anitha Lydia, sister of Sr Lobo, organized the Eucharist and cultural programme.

The events were held under the guidance of Ignatius Lobo and all her brothers and sisters, brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Another important event was the golden jubilee of Sr Lobo’s parents’ wedding. Everyone enjoyed a sumptuous meal.
