Mangalore: Lions club to host Lioness service project on Jan 5

Mangalore, Jan 3: "Lions club international district 317-D will organise a District Lioness conference 'Spoorthi' on January 5 at 3:30 pm in Urwa church hall, Mangalore," said District Lioness co-ordinator, Asha Chandramohan on Friday January 3 at a press meet.

"People who working under dist 317-D, will be honored for their work and service. In this conference, more than 1000 lions and lioness  will participate," she said.

"Our aim is to work for the society and we have donated two toilets and washrooms to the inmates at the Mangalore jail which will be used for the visitors. The new area will be inaugurated on January 6. On the same day, the Mangalore District library requires computers which we will donate. From the lioness branch will be providing our help to the lions who have started a dialysis centre for the poor people," she said.

Asha Chandramohan, will preside over the conference, K C Prabhu and Shantheri C Prabhu will inaugurate, chief guest, Roopa Iyer, director, columnist, Kavita S Shastri, II vice district Governor, will inaugurate the Lioness service project.

Indira Arun Shetty, conference committee president, Sabitha R Shetty, conference committee secretary, Kanakavalli Kedige, treasurer and Jyothi S Anchan, public relation officer were also present during the press meet.
