Kasargod: Thieves break into house, loot gold, cash

Kasargod, Jan 6: Thieves broke into a house and stole 17 sovereigns worth of gold ornaments and Rs 1.35 lac in cash. This incident took place at the Badiyadka police station limits in Mugu cheva.

The theft took place at the residence of C H Mohammed who works in Saudi Arabia. On Sunday January 5, his wife Tahira and two children went on a visit to a relative’s house.

The theft came to light when Mohammed’s parents who live closeby witnessed the back door of the house broken. The thieves searched two cupboards inside the house and stole the gold and cash. 

Kasargod DYSP P Ramachadran, Adooru circle inspector Sunil Kumar, Badiyadka sub inspector Lakshman visited the spot.

Canine squad and finger print experts also rushed to the spot.
