Mangalore, Jan 7: “While coming to power, state chief minister Siddaramaiah had assured that the government will have corruption-free administration but now he has inducted two tainted MLAs into the cabinet. Although earlier he had said there is no room for corrupt MLAs, D K Shivakumar and Roshan Baig, using their political power, have entered the cabinet," said Rajesh Shetty Pajiraguthu, state executive member of BJP Yuva Morcha.

"By inducting these two corrupt MLAs the chief minister had deceived the people of the state. D K Shivakumar, who looted the treasury of this state as a mining broker and Roshan Baig provided several acre of Wakf land for commercial purposes, are both corrupt. Hence, the BJP Yuva Morcha will severely condemn this. Immediately, the chief minister should exclude corrupt MLAs form his cabinet,” he added.

He was addressing the protest organized near the DC office on Monday January 6 by the district unit of BJP Yuva Morcha against the induction of tainted MLAs into the cabinet.

Ranjan G Gowda, district president of BJP Yuva Morcha and Kishor Kumar Puttur, state vice-president of BJP Yuva Morcha, spoke on this occasion.

Capt Brijesh Chowta, in his keynote address said, “As we are entering into the New Year, the state government provided a gift to the state by inducting two tainted MLAs into his cabinet. After receiving power, over the past eight months, no development work has taken place.”

A memorandum was submitted to the chief minister through the DC.
