M'lore: Overflowing response to AAP suggesting ideas for manifesto

Media Release

Mangalore, Jan 8: The mailbox of aapdkunit@gmail.com is overflowing as people of the district from across the world have been enthusiastically contributing their ideas and suggestions regarding their needs and aspirations for the overall development of the coastal region of the state. Aam Aadmi Party had recently invited people of the Mangalore constituency to send in their view to prepare a manifesto specific to Mangalore in the run up for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections that is round the corner.

Netizens have been writing on wide range of issues including aspects of infrastructure, health care, education, Women’s Security, the advent of mega industries and such other matters of public importance. The district unit of the party has been meticulously compiling the suggestions and will be consolidating it in consultation with subject expert to prepare a full-fledged Manifesto for Coastal Karnataka.

Meanwhile, there has been an enthusiastic response from all sections of the society to join the Aam Aadmi Party in the district. The party district unit has organized a massive membership drive on Sunday January 12 at BEM High School, Car Street in the city.

Prominent Mangaloreans including eminent doctors, chartered accountants, advocates, engineers among others have shown keen interest in joining the party fold and become active volunteers to work towards fielding a strong candidate for the Mangalore constituency for the MP elections and ensure a seat for AAP in the Lok Sabha elections which is slated to be held in mid April or a little later.

Condemnation

The Dakshina Kannada district unit of Aam Aadmi Party has strongly condemned the attack on the party head office in Delhi by Lumpen elements who seem to have crossed all boundaries of sanity in political activism. “We strongly condemn the attack and register our peaceful protest while urging those with ill intentions to refrain from such acts of cowardice.  The attack on our leader Prashanth Bhushan, attack on the vehicle of Delhi minister Rakhi Birla and now the attack on our head office, are a series of brazen attacks of irrational and corrupt mindset, striving to prove a point by all wrong means.”

Physical attack on leaders of AAP and also on its Head Office smacks of intolerance exhibited by the Nazis in Germany during the in-between period of the World Wars. Such attitude of the lumpen elements involved requires to be condemned in the strongest terms and protested against by all peace loving citizens of India who believe in democracy.
