Mangalore: Al Badriya Institution celebrates crystal jubilee

Mangalore, Jan 12: The crystal jubilee celebrations and inauguration of new building of Al Badriya Educational Institutions was held on Saturday, January 11. Union minister of surface transport and highways Oscar Fernandes, inaugurated the new building.

Addressing the gathering after the inauguration, he said, “Students should be the light of society. They should inspire other students towards progress with their character and good behavior. The responsibility of parents is important along with that of the teachers to identify the talents of children and parents too should come forward to create forums for their development.”

He said that the union government also is providing support to educational institutions and urged them to utilize it.

Minister of forests in the state B Ramanatha Rai released the souvenir ‘Spatika Kirana’. He said that programmes such as these become successful only with the kindness of God.

B A Mohiuddin Bawa, MLA of Mangalore North constituency presided over the programme.

Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, former minister B A Moidin, former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, Yenepoya group’s Yenepoya Abdul Kunhi, Haji B M Farooq, Khateeb Al haji E K Ibrahim Musliyar, Blossom Fernandes, Badruddin Panambur, Bashir Ahmed and others participated in the programme.

Khalid Engineer and Haji S M Rasheed were felicitated during the programme.

Haji M Mumtaz, president of educational institutions led the prayer. Convener Nazir welcomed the gathering. Teachers and students of the institute sang a group song prior to the programme.
