Udupi: People felicitate cops for recovering stolen idol

Udupi, Jan 15: Kaup police SI Sunil Kumar and other police personnel were on Tuesday January 14 felicitated in Udyavar for recovering a 15th century Ganapati idol of Udyavar Mahathobara Shri Siddivinayaka Temple which was stolen three months ago.

Under the initiative of the temple administration, the locals welcomed the idol which had been stolen three months ago.

On this occasion, Siddivinayaka Temple administrative president Prabhakar Rao, litterateur Udyavar Madhava Acharya, gram panchayat president Vijay Kumar Udyavar, and Kalukuda priest Boja Pathri were present.

Administrative committee secretary Vinod Kumar Bhat welcomed. U Ram Murthy Bhat compered the programme.
