Mangalore, Jan 17: The department of hospital administration at the Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore, hosted a national conference ‘Horizon 2014’ on Friday January 17 at Decennial Memorial Hall, Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore.
Fr Rudolph Ravi D'sa, administrator of FMMC welcomed the guests and Dr B Sanjeev Rai, chief of Medical Services inaugurated the ceremony.
Dr B Sanjeev Rai in his inaugural speech said " I am happy to be a part of this national conference which will speak on the recent trends in health care. It is neccessary to periodically update the knowledge on in health care so as to plan and impliment improved measures in health."
"Due to a fast paced technologically advanced society our patients have more knowledge these days, where they point out our mistakes while we give give them medical advice. Requirement of the doctors in this generation is very high," he added.
Dr Rohan Monis, chief medical co-ordinator, Unity health complex, Mangalore in his key note address said "A conference like this dissipates the real world knowledge among the participants, about the health care sector, its engagements, interdependency issues, multidisciplinary formats and the synergistic relationship with the Governmental agencies along with all the stake holders in the interest of benefitting beneficiaries who are in the radar screen. Ethics learning and better methodology with the result of user satisfation is the mainstay."
He stated "You all are lucky to have these industry experts, who with their shared opinions and insights into hands on healthcare reforms which will help your IQ on current and future trends in the Indian healthcare scenario."
Dr Munindra Srivastava, president of Academy of hospital administration, Noida, India released a souvenir on the national conference ‘Horizon 2014’.
Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of FMCI presided over the function; Dr Jayaprakash Alva, dean, FMMC, Fr Richard Coelho, administrator, FMMC, Dr Sudhamathi, course co-ordinator, Sweta D'Cunha, organising secretary and others were present.
