Belman engineer dies in accident at Belur

Karkala, Jan 20: Belman Vijayakrishna Udupa (33), a social activist and a multi-talented engineer died in a road accident that occurred on Saturday January 18 night.

The accident occurred near Belur, when the Ritz car driven by Udupa collided with a tanker when he was on his way from Bangalore to his hometown.

He had graduated in civil engineering from Nitte Engineering College during 2001-02 with fifth rank and was employed as an assistant engineer in the water resources department of PWD in Mangalore.

He was the founder member of Belman Rotary Club and an expert in organizing. He leaves behind his elderly mother, wife, his daughter, a student of LKG, two brothers and a sister.

A case in this regard has been registered in Belur police station.

    Kindly make some speed limits(like in GCC) to this tippers & tankers, who are driving rash speed in city limits also,majority accidents from more then decade happening due to heavy vehicles who dont care other life,there are target is how many trips in a day.

    I am shocked to hear this sad news.

    Too many accidents are happening in 66 and 75 highways,,, we should find a way to prevent it...good cars and bad drivers/roads are perhaps responsible for this...
