Mangalore: Roshan Sequiera to be conferred 'Yuvakiran' award

Mangalore, Feb 1: Young talent Roshan Melky Sequeira has been chosen for the “Yuvakiran-2013” award. This award was instituted during 2011 by Samanvaya, Mangalore and is sponsored by non-resident Indians Mr & Mrs John A. Karkala presently living in the U.S.A., who hold Konkani culture very close to their heart. It includes a citation, a memento, shawl and a cash prize. Joel Noronha of Siddakatte and Darrel Jeevan D’souza of Vamanjoor had won this award in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

Roshan Sequeira with his pen name Roshu Bajpe, hails from Bajpe and has been chosen for this award in recognition of his contribution to the cause of konkani language and literature.

 He has been writing from the young age of 16. He has a number of innovative articles to his credit along with a few short stories and poems. He has won prizes in Rakanno literary competitions regularly and also in the Sevak competition. Presently, Roshan is employed at MCC Bank, Bajpe.

'Yuvakiran 2013' will be conferred on him on February 16  at 3 pm at Mai De Dues Church ground, Puttur.
