Lucknow, May 20: Sachin Pahari, main accused in the murder of Mehar Bhargav, has been shot dead in an encounter with the Lucknow police and the special task force.
Pahari had been absconding after the murder.
Meher, the wife of Congress leader Luv Bhargav, was shot at on February 28 in the lift of the building where she stayed with her family in Lucknow.
She was shot while trying to protect her daughter-in-law from four men in the lift who were making lewd comments.
Meher was first admitted to a Lucknow hospital, and then brought to Delhi's Apollo Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on March 25.
