Kasargod: Three-year-old child dies as auto falls into ditch

Kasargod, Feb 5: An auto rickshaw fell into a roadside ditch at Kollampadi, resulting in the death of a three-year-old child.

Rifan, aged three-and-a-half years, is the deceased child.

The accident occurred on Sunday February 2 evening as the auto hit a pedestrian and went out of control before falling into a ditch.

Rifan’s mother Hasina (27), sister Ridha (6) and grandmother Zohra (45) were injured.

Rifan succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in Mangalore. The other injured are said to be recovering.

The accident occurred when they were on their way back after visiting their relatives in Anangur, Tipu Nagar. 

A case has been registered against the auto driver.
