M'lore: MLA performs Guddali Puja for Yekkur projects

Mangalore, Feb 6: Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo performed the Guddali Puja for various road development and storm- water drain management systems at Yekkur, here on Thursday February 6.

The projects include concreting of Yekkur Main road at the cost of Rs 90 lacs under the SFC Fund; concreting of Sadashiv Nagar Layout Road at a cost of Rs 40 lacs under the SFC Fund and the construction of  a storm-water drain system  across the Denmark Layout at a cost of Rs 11lacs under the Third financial fund.

After the Guddali puja, a formal function was also held at the venue. Corporator Praveen Chandra Alva in his keynote address expressed his gratitude MLA J R Lobo for his keen interest towards the initiation of these projects. He also appreciated his enthusiasm towards the development of the city.

Addressing the gathering, J R Lobo said "we are striving hard for the overall development of the city in every possible way. Road and drainage development facilities have been considered on a priority basis all over the city. Various projects have been planned which will begin shortly; these are said to be priced with a total cost of Rs 461.55 crores. Majority of the projects have been approved and are in various stages of development. People of this ward have chosen a good candidate to be their representative. Praveen Alva is a young and dynamic leader who is concerned about the people and is truly working towards the welfare of his ward."

Leaders Prabhakar Shriyan, T K Sudhir, Bharath Ram, Sesamma, AWD Gokuldas and others were present on the dais.

Contractor Hussain, J E Ganapathi, Hemanth Garodi, Krithin Kumar, Wilfy Bajal, Naveen lobo, Krithin Kumar, Rony Nagori, Anil Nagori, Lancy, Rathnakar, Sahshiraj, Suresh Master, Kamalaksha, Umesh Devadiga, Shabeer and others were present.

    Gestation is over now. They have made their way out from the mess it was in for the last 5 years.
    Now things should move on one by one.
    One must say Congress Govt. has done good progress from a difficult situation within six months time.
    Those who still complain about it are morons.
    Where there is a credit due it should be given by all, which will encourage those who are at it to do better and criticize when things are not done\half done.
    Does not matter under which party Govt. these developments are taking place. After all we people are beneficiaries of those developments.
