Bhatkal: Snake bite claims life of toddler girl

Bhatkal, Feb 8:  In a tragic incident, a two-and-a-half-year-old baby girl Devakki, daughter of Parshuram Naik R died as a result of a snake bite.

The snake reportedly bit her right hand while she was playing in the compund of her house close to a  'Bore Hannu' tree. The incident took place around noon on February 6.

The child passed away on the way to the government hospital. The child who is basically from Sirsi,  lost her father but she stayed with her mother at Karikal, Bhatkal.

Ten days ago her mother Lalitha was admitted to Bhatkal government hospital for a stomach operation and she continues to be under treatment.

A case has been registered at the Bhatkal rural police station.
