Mangalore: Powerlifters qualify for J & K Championship

Mangalore, Feb 9: A team of district athletes have been selected to represent Karnataka for the National bench press powerlifting championship to be held from February 20 to February 23 at Jammu and Kashmir.

The team consists of Vishal Karan 59kg category  who had secured gold in state level bench press power lifting championship junior as well as in senior category and also secured gold  in district  power lifting competition; Pradeep Kumar  in the 66 kg category senior secured silver medal in state level bench press power lifting championship and bronze in district  power lifting competition; Venizeia Annie Carlo 52kg category sub juniur secured gold medal  in state level bench press power lifting championship and silver in senior state  bench press championship and bronze in district power-lifting competition; Jagadish secured bronze in 59kg category senior state bench press power lifting championship.

Coach Vincent Prakash Carlo ( common wealth gold medalist ) and Sathish Kudroli lead the team as they train the atheletes at Carlos gym and Balanjeneya gymnasium.
