Udupi: Feast celebrated at Stella Maris parish, Kalmady

Udupi, Feb 10: The annual feast of Stella Maris parish, Kalmady, was celebrated with devotion and religious fervour on Saturday February 8 and Sunday February 9.

Fr Fred Mascarenhas, dean of Udupi Denary preside over the festal Holy Mass along with Kalmady parish priest Fr Alban D’souza and other priests from the deanery who were the co-celebrants.

Fr Fred, in his homily, said that Jesus Christ has given all of us a 'Perfect Mother'. She always inspire us to come back towards Jesus. And for that she always prays with God. Mother Mary always helped the needy people when necessary.


He further added that Holy Catholic Church required one who leaves his or her life according to saints ways like Mother Mary. "Nowadays there is no displine in our families. Because of modernization members of family have less time to spend in their families," he said.

Finally he stressed that 'our Family should like the Holy Faithful Family'.

Fr Alban, parish priest of the church, thanked the parish council former vice- president Lewis Lobo, and secretary Pricilla Alva for their selfless service towards church. The priests thanked newly elected vice president Flavia mathias and secretary Sanjay Andrade on the occasion.

On Saturday February 8, vespers were celebrated and Fr Andrew Leo D’souza of Pakshikere Church was the main celebrant of the holy Eucharist prayers.

A large number of parishioners and devotees from neighboring parishes attended the festal Holy Mass and shared their joy on the occasion.
