New Delhi, March 4 (IANS): A separate Telangana state will formally come into being on June 2, the central government said Tuesday.
The union home ministry fixed June 2 as the appointed day or formation day of Telangana state. The same day, the residual Andhra Pradesh state will come into existence.
President Pranab Mukherjee on March 1 gave his assent to Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2014. The gazette notification was published the same day but the appointed day was not declared.
