Vittal, Jun 8: The infant abandoned by a mentally ill mother Anekal in Karopady village on Tuesday Jun 6. What followed was a chain of events for attaining custody of the child.
Sundari, (30) wife of Guruvappa Naik was on her way to Vittal Hospital, when she developed labour pain in the middle of the forest. She delivered the child and disappeared after abandoning the child in a bush. The child was found by Hasainar, who took the baby boy to his house.
Naik who came to Hasainar to take back his son was turned down by Hasainar which led to a tiff between the two.
The Vittal police which intervened after a complaint was lodged by Naik took away the child from Hasainar and have kept it in the custody of an ashram at Kanyana.
The child will be in the care of the ashram and will be handed over to its biological parents after investigation from health personnel.
It is said that Sundari had given birth to two children earlier. Both died and this resulted in mental disturbance.
