Moodbidri, May 20: 'Alva’s Pragati-2014’ is an annual mass job exhibition conducted by Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri; this year it has been scheduled for June 14 and June 15.
This event is being hosted for the fifth time at the Vidyagiri campus.
Alva’s Education Foundation has been working towards assisting aspirants in finding and choosing the right career, by organizing campus drives, training and conducting assessment tests. The foundation has recognized this futuristic concern and has been working towards this move of societal upliftment by providing such platforms.
AEF’s objective in organizing the mass drives is not only to provide employment but also to educate and create awareness amongst the rural youth, about the employment opportunities available in various sectors, where they can be gainfully employed.
Last year, ‘Alva’s Pragati-2013’ received an overwhelming response. 172 companies participated in the Mega event and the registration counters witnessed more than 15,000 enthusiastic participants from more than 400 colleges.
Since 3 years, AEF was also the chief co-ordinator of the Chickaballapura Udyoga Mela. Last year, 277 companies, participated across 14 sectors.
This year we have organised 32 pool campus drives. Prominent companies like Ernst &Young, IBM, Northern Trust Bank, Infosys and Wipro were the recruiters.
This year ‘Alva’s Pragati-2014’ will be held at Vidyagiri Campus, Alva’s Degree College, Moodbidri. The foundation is expecting 200 PLUS companies, spanning across sectors like IT/ITES, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Automobile, Healthcare, BFSI, Media, Sales & Retail, NGO & Education, BPO/KPO, HR agencies and Defence to participate in this Job Fair.
Prominent companies participating at ‘Alvas Pragati-2014’ are Titan, Videocon, Oracle, E&Y, IBM, UAE Exchange, NMC, Narayana Hrudyalaya, Biocon, Aditya Birla group, TechMahindra, Godrej, ITC, Kirloskar Electric, L&T, Taj Group, ICICI Bank, Wipro, TVS, Allcargo, Xchanging, Aegis, Capgemini etc.,
Features and benefits at ‘Alva’s Pragati’
1. Free registration - for both companies and candidates. Job aspirants have to register themselves online. There is no fee charged for registration or at any other subsequent level.
2. Online registration - by the candidates would help us in providing real-time data on candidates to the company. The registration can be done on the link provided on www.alvaspragati.com.
3. Color coding - Each participant will get a color card based on his or her qualification. This will help them identify the right company and the right profile.
4.Employability Enhancement Center - is a dedicated assessment and counseling wing staffed by more than 100 counselors. They comprise HR executives, trainers and members of the teaching fraternity. This cell is a key feature of Alva’s Pragati Job Fair. The primary responsibility of counselors is to provide clarity and to guide the aspirants based on their qualifications and industry requisites. The cell also works on fine tuning applicant’s interview facing skills. This cell has been one of the prime factors for the success and effectiveness of the fair.
5.Clarity Wall - The job descriptions of all the OPEN positions of companies participating at Alva’s Pragati 2014 will be displayed on the Clarity Wall.
6. Great opportunity for graduates across disciplines - A very high number of companies are looking for graduates such as BBM / BCom / BCA / B.Sc/ BHM / BSW. Top international banks, Pharma companies, Manufacturing companies will also be participating and hiring aspirants. Experienced graduates across sectors can also participate in the drive, as there is a huge demand for graduates.
7. Many Hospitals are looking for nursing graduates - NMC, Narayana Hrudyalaya, Ifan Global, Wockhardt etc., are offering jobs for nursing students. For overseas nursing positions at NMC, the candidate must have 2 years of experience after nursing certification.
8. Overseas companies participating- Companies like NMC, UAEXchange, Fabtech etc., have overseas job openings especially in the Middle-East countries.
9. Good Opportunity for ITI, Diploma candidates - ITI, Diploma students can benefit from this drive as companies are coming over with positions offered exclusively for them. Companies such as Titan, ITC, Videocon, Biocon, Laxmi Machine Works etc., have positions vacant for ITI / Diploma candidates.

1. 5-10 Passport size photos along with updated resumes of the candidate
2. All marks cards to be attached (Xerox copies)
