Mangaluru, Oct 14: Srinivas University will organize its 9th annual convocation on Thursday, October 15, at 10:00 am at the Srinivas University Campus, Mukka, Surathkal. This will be followed by the celebration of ‘Sadbhavana Divas’ on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of the University’s Founder Chancellor, the late Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, on October 16.

During the 9th annual convocation, a total of 2,077 graduates will receive their certificates, including 395 postgraduate and 1,619 undergraduate graduates. The university has announced 177 ranks across various academic programmes, while 37 graduates will receive the chancellor’s gold medal in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements. In addition, 63 research scholars will be awarded PhD degrees.

The convocation will be presided over by Dr A Srinivas Rao, hon’ble chancellor of Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru. Dr Zafar Yunus Sareshwala, principal advisor at Hilal ESG Ltd and former chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, and Dr Faruk G Patel, founder, chairman & managing director of KP Group, will grace the occasion as chief guests.

The programme will be attended by A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, Padmini Kumar, Meghana S Rao, Samana S Rao, and Ishan S Rao, trustee members of the Board of Governors, Srinivas University; Dr K Satyanarayana Reddy, vice-chancellor; Dr Anil Kumar, registrar; Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, registrar – evaluation; Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar – development; and Dr Adithya Kumar Maiya, registrar – academic, alongside other dignitaries, faculty members, graduates, and their families.

The second day, October 16, will mark another significant occasion in the history of Srinivas University with the celebration of ‘Sadbhavana Divas’ commemorating the 90th birth anniversary, life, vision, and enduring legacy of the late Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao.

The day’s programme will feature the inauguration of ‘Swarna Smaraka Dhama’, a memorial dedicated to the founder chancellor, by his holiness Param Poojya Shri Shri Vidyavallabha Teertha Swamiji of Shri Kaniyooru Matha, Udupi. The event will begin with a pooja at the Campus Pond ‘KAVERI’, followed by Ashirvachana by Shri Shri Vidyavallabha Teertha Swamiji.

The statue of the late Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao will subsequently be unveiled as a tribute to his invaluable contributions to education and institution-building.

The occasion will also witness the inauguration of the department of indian knowledge system, reflecting the University’s commitment to preserving and promoting India’s rich intellectual, cultural, and philosophical heritage alongside contemporary education.

The programme on October 16 will commence at 10:00 am at the Srinivas University Campus, Mukka, Surathkal, Mangaluru. This two-day event will celebrate academic achievement, honor the vision of the university’s founder chancellor, and reaffirm Srinivas University’s commitment to academic excellence, research, innovation, and the preservation of India’s knowledge traditions.
