RJD to support JD-U government in Bihar

Patna, May 22 (IANS): In a surprise move, senior RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui Thursday said his party will support the JD-U government headed by new Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, a MahaDalit.

"RJD will support the JD-U government led by ... Manjhi," Siddiqui, the RJD legislature party leader in the assembly, told IANS.

Siddiqui said a formal announcement would be made at a meeting of RJD legislators Thursday evening.

The RJD has 21 members in the 243-member state assembly.

The new chief minister, who succeeded Nitish Kumar, said he was happy to get the Rashtriya Janata Dal's legislative backing.

"It is nice to hear that the RJD will support my government," he said.

Two days ago the Congress extended support to the JD-U government. The Congress has four legislators.

Nitish Kumar resigned Saturday following his party's debacle in the Lok Sabha polls.

The JD-U has 117 legislators and also enjoys the support of one CPI member and two independent legislators.

everyone is telling BJP won only 31%. A highly convoluted logic is being floated around that since only 31% people voted for the BJP, 69% people rejected them. The biggest problem with this is that the BJP did not contest in more than 100 seats and hence they got a 0% vote share there.

These were handed over to the allies and hence one has to see the vote share of the NDA which stands at a much higher 38.5%. And it’s not as if the 61.5% has rejected them, it simply means that 61.5% did not vote for the NDA.

Thanks and we take your agitated criticism with humility. But Indian Voters at large saw through who was faking all these years and that is the reason people across the caste and creed got together this time to form a genuine govt, the govt with a majority that was not seen in last 30years. More you burst your jelousy and mindless hatered more is good for the present govt to be better and better for the people. So, keeep it up.

BJP got so many seats with 30% Votes .Smaller Parties got good percentage of Votes but could not win seats . It is the interest of smaller parties to come together if they really need to survive in this political system.

    Strategy for survival.
After superb performance of BJP and its allies under the able leadership of Narendrabhai Modi,
UPA allies, shed their ego and made/compelled to support each other.
Modi is their unifying force, whether he intended or not!
Things are shaping in a strange way!
Earlier they Labored together but fought during harvest time.

Many parties will now come together to ensure their survival. This is just the beginning. Massive consolidation will happen in the next assembly elections for all states for sure to fight the BJP. Remember the BJP has 32% vote share and 68% vote for others and consolidation can be a game changer in the next election and as well as state elections

persons who vote for bjp are not fools.if every one joins and fight singularly against bjp.then reverse polarisation will happen like what happened in this election when so called secular parties tried to polarise the minorities.indian people are very intelligent to recognise this.

Who said Modi will divide the nation. Look here, Its because of Modi , today Nitesh & his onetime bitter enemy Lalu UNITEd. Its against the same Lalu with whom JDU(NDA) took away Bihar claiming that Lalu ran a Jungle raj. Look at them today. Divided by NDA, UNITED by Modi, the king of good times.

Does anyone want more proof for Modi’s Inclusive politics ? .

Congress & AAP will follow soon. Ek Bharath Srest Bharat.

Better late than never. Now they understood the abc of politics.
If this understanding was there during the Election, then BJP would have been completely washed out in Bihar.
The vote share of NDA( BJP Paswan ) scored 33%, where as Lalu, nitesh and congress scored 43 %. Let them learn a lesson who were looking to eat the full cake alone.
Similar story will happen if SP, BSP and cong come together, and their share of votes was above 55%.
If they do not want to come together, let them suffer like this ( ZERO )
