Kasargod: Three arrested for stealing boat engine

Kasargod, May 23: A teamof police led by deputy SP T P Ranjith has detained three people suspected of stealing a boat engine.

The arrested are identified as Abdul Nasir (33), a resident of Anangoor, Mohammed Kunhi (21) and Aboobacker Siddiq (22) residents of Kollampadi. They were arrested on the Friday May 23 morning. The boat engine was missing from the Talangere boat jetty two days ago.

The police had initially seized the boat for the illegal transport of sand. The boat was anchored at the jetty. The engine was reportedly
stolen from there. The police had seized the engine the next day and also the car used for robbery.

The police said that Aboobacker Siddiq is said to be a computer student. Abdul Nasser is said to be an auto driver while Upendra is the second suspect in a murder case.
