Mangalore: Beary Academy hosts cultural meet

Mangalore, Jun 1: "There should be peace and harmony in society; misunderstandings should be kept aside," said B Ramanath Rai, DK district minister at Beary Cultural Literary Meet and Felicitation programme held on Saturday May 31 in Ullal. It was jointly organized by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy and Ullala Minority Development Association.

"Beary Academy gives importance to harmony, along with language and literature. I whole-heartedly pledge my support to this association," Rai added.


B A Mohammed Haneef, the president of Beary Academy presided over the function. Journalist B M Hannef delivered the key-note address. 

MLA Moideen Bawa, ex-minister B A Moideen, Girija M, the president of Ullal town municipality and vice-president Razia Ibrahim were the chief guests.

Veteran litterateur Amruth Someshwara, social worker Anwar Hussain, Vijanath Vittal Shetty, Dr Pandith Ibrahim, Abdul Ustad, Vasudeva Bolooru, the president, AHIND, Sridhar Master and Loius Albuquerque were felicitated.

Registrar Umarabba proposed vote of thanks.
