Spain's queen wears favourite shade of white for coronation

Madrid, June 19 (IANS/EFE): Queen Letizia wore an outfit in her favourite shade of white Thursday to the ceremony in which her husband, King Felipe VI, was proclaimed Spain's new monarch.

The outfit, characterised by simplicity and straight lines, was in a colour that Queen Letizia has worn on many of the most important occasions in her life.

The 41-year-old Queen Letizia wore a white outfit Nov 1, 2003, when she was presented to the press as Felipe's future wife.

King Felipe VI's and Queen Letizia's daughters, Leonor, the Princess of Asturias, and Princess Sofia wore similarly styled outfits, but in different colours.

Queen Sofia, King Felipe VI's mother, also wore a traditionally cut dress in a shade of lime accented with pearls, while Princess Elena, the monarch's sister, wore a suit in white and pink tones.
