Kasargod, Jun 27: PDP leader K P Mohammed's wife Zubaida, who had accused him of cheating her by creating fake documents, has said that she won the case against her husband in court.
Zubaida had claimed that she was cheated by her husband who created fake records which she got to realize very late. She stated that she has a son from KP Mohammed whose name is Ummer Mukhtar.
Zubaida told media persons that Mohammed (46), a resident of Uppala Hidayath Nagar and PDP leader for Kasargod district and district vice-president, had married her 17 years ago by presenting fake records, a fake address, and falsifying the name of his parents. She claimed that she had handed over Rs 2 lac and 30 sovereigns of gold to him during her marriage.
Zubaida has further stated that Mohammed married her abandoning his first wife, a resident of Dharmathadka Chevayur. Zubaida said that she came to know of all these manipulations by her husband later by accident when one Abdulla, supposed to be the uncle of Mohammed, was arrested over charges of cheating somebody in marriage.
Zubaida sued Mohammed in the Kasargod First Class Judicial Court stating all these reasons and the court has decreed that Mohammed pay Rs 4,500 to her every month for her maintenance and issued orders that the house in Uppala Hidayath Nagar belonging to Mohammed be given to Zubaida.
Furthermore, Zubaida brought to the attention of the court that her husband had seven children from his first wife and that her husband had ceased to visit her.
Zubaida also narrated how Mohammed assaulted her and her son at night when she reached her house in Uppala as directed by the court. It is mentioned in the records that Mohammed locked the house and left the gas pipe open in an attempt to kill Zubaida the moment she entered the house.
Zubaida told the press that her husband gave her no money apart from Rs. 40,000. She said she was being pressurized by Mohammed for a divorce and that she has been threatened of dire consequences with her husband mentioning the name of a certain senior Kasargod police officer who happens to be his friend.
Zubaida was with her son Ummar Muktar and her brothers Dasthakeer and Dawood at the press conference.
