Mangalore, Jul 10: The Mangalore unit of the Dalit Sangharsha Samithi has alleged that the developmental projects of the state government are limited only to records and the government itself is denying the development to people.

The Samithi held a protest here on Thursday July 10 at the DC's office.

The convener of all the Dalit organizations of the district Ashok Konchadi expressed his disappointment regarding the denial of the government's schemes to the members of the Dalit community.

He said, "We are residing on the government land since many years. Without the land ownership document we do not get even a small loan to improve our financial condition. There is a provision under the 94c Akrama Sakrama clause to obtain the land ownership, but the officials of the MCC are denying us the facility. As per sources the government itself has stopped the facility and is making pompous announcement regarding the improvement of the Dalit community."

"The land reserved for the Ambedkar Bhavan in the Derebail village is being encroached by some people. The in-charge minister who has promised to build the Ambedkar Bhavan in January 2014 is not receiving any calls. Looking into all the above aspects, we feel that the chief minister just wants to announce big projects for the Dalit community, but does not want the community to improve. He has to realize that he has received the power from our votes and if the same trend continues then we will teach the Congress party a lesson in the future elections," he concluded.

District president of the Dalit Sangharsha Samith (Bheemavada) Aramesh Kotian, vice president Rohith Ullal and Sudhakar Boloor were among the present during the occasion.
