Mangalore: DC orders fixing of CCTV's in sub-­registrar's office

Mangalore, Jul 12: Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner, A B Ibrahim, has instructed fitting of closed circuit television cameras inside all the sub-­registrar offices in the district by July 20.

He said this measure is necessitated to ensure that transactions in the office remain transparent.

Addressing a meet of district registrar and sub-­registrars held in the city on Friday July 11, he said that it was necessary to compulsorily display fee structures for registrations of will, mortgage and so on in these offices. He also asked all the staff of these offices to declare cash in their possession in advance every day.

He instructed the officials to put up a board stating that no one can hand over cash without aurhorization in these offices, duly asking the people to complain to the Lokayukta if anyone demands money.

Additional deputy commissioner, Sadashiva Prabhu, district registrar, Ravindra L Poojary, Mangalore taluk sub-­registrar Raghuram Prasad and others were present.
