Mumbai, July 14: Dharma Productions 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniyan' has collected Rs 33 crores net in it's first three days in India.

This is a very good amount for a small budget film like 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniyan.'

The film opened to around 60% occupancy in theaters across India netting around Rs 9 crores on it's first day. On the second day, the tally increased to Rs 11.25 crores and Rs 12.75 crores on the third.

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's loyal fan base are said to be the reason for such good collections. The movie received average reviews from critics. The movie collected more in first three days than Varun's last film 'Main Tera Hero,' which had collected Rs 21 crores. But it fell short of Alia's last release '2 States,' which had collected Rs 38 crores in the first weekend.

The movie is already a profit venture for Karan Johar and is surely to beat the box office collections of Varun's and Alia's debut film 'Student of the Year,' which had collected around Rs 68 crores.
