Sullia: Bike knocks down pedestrian to death

Sullia, Jul 15: After a motor bike hit him at Alekkady on Kaniyoor-Subrahmanya road on Monday July 14, a pedestrian breathed his last on the spot. The deceased was identified as Nagappa Gowda (72), a resident of Kerpada in Yedamangala village.

Nagappa was walking by the side of the road at Alekkady when a motor bike coming from the direction of Kaniyoor towards Nintikal hit him. Gowda, who fell down, suffered serious injuries and died on the spot. The bike rider has been identified as Himmat.

Nagappa Gowda had earlier functioned as the managing trustee of Kerapada Goddess Mahishamardini Temple. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. A case in this connection was registered in Subrahmanya polcie station.
