Kasargod: Attempt to smuggle foreign currency to Sharjah; three held

Kasargod, Jul 17: Three persons were arrested by the personnel of air customs department from the Nedumbassery airport, along with foreign currency notes they were carrying illegally to the Gulf region.

The arrested persons have been identified as Munir Mohammed, Mohammed Ashraf and Mohammed Ashraf Ali.

These three passengers were found to be in possession of US dollars, pound sterlings, UAE Dirhams and Kuwaiti Dinars, totally worth Rs 21.99 lac.

These persons arrived at the airport to travel to Sharjah by an Air India Express flight on Wednesday July 16. The foreign currency notes were found concealed in the pants and shirts they were wearing at the time.
