Puttur: CCTV footage helps man to get back lost money

Puttur, Jul 17: A person, who had lost a bag containing Rs 14,000 in cash, was able to recover the money on the basis of a closed circuit television camera footage installed in a shop.

Ibrahim from Perne, had come to a medical store in Uppinangady to buy medicines on Tuesday July 15. He had kept the bag containing cash at the counter and after his purchase, found to his dismay that the bag containing cash was missing.

The owner of the medical shop, who informed Ibrahim that his shop had CCTV's, volunteered to provide the footage. On checking, it was seen that a person had removed the bag. Owner of the shop, U G Radh inquired and found out that the man in question belongs to Kunthoor village.

After visiting the man's house, the concerned was informed that his action had been caught on camera. The bag containing cash was recovered from him. With mutual consent between the persons, it was decided not to pursue the matter legally.
