Now a Barbie doll inspired by Karl Lagerfeld

Los Angeles, July 18 (IANS): Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld will lend his image to a limited edition Barbie doll to celebrate the toy's 55th birthday this year.

The legendary fashion designer, who stands as creative director of Chanel and the Italian fashion house Fendi, has had the limited edition toy crafted in his image, reports contactmusic.com.

According to WWD, the doll will be launched in autumn by American toy giant Mattel as part of their collector series, and will be dressed in the 80-year-old's signature tailored black jacket, white high-collar shirt, black jeans, necktie, black ankle boots and fingerless gloves.

Global vice president of Barbie product design, Kim Culmone, said: "It's not everyday that Barbie dresses like the world's most famous fashion designer."

Details surrounding the price and distribution of the iconic figurine will be released later.
