Rohit Shetty to remake 'Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi'

Mumbai, Jul 20: Popular director Rohit Shetty is all set to direct Shahrukh Khan in the remake of 1958 Hindi super hit film 'Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi'. The remake movie will be scripted by Sajid-Farhad.

'Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi' is a comedy film about three brothers who run a garage. Real life brothers Ashok Kumar, Kishore Kumar and Anoop Kumar were seen in the film. Madhubala was the lead heroine in the film
paired opposite Kishore Kumar.

Shah Rukh Khan is said to be reprising the role of Ashok Kumar from the original film. The younger brothers' roles will be played by Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Alia Bhatt is said to be reprising the role of evergreen Madhubala.

The shooting for the film is slated to start in early 2015.
