When Harshvardhan Rane dons dhoti for 'Maaya'

Hyderabad, July 21 (IANS): Customers of Kalamandir store recently here were in for a surprise when actor Harshvardhan Rane along his co-stars Avantika Mishra and Sushma Raj broke into a 'dhoti' dance as part of the promotions for their upcoming Telugu thriller "Maaya".

Directed by Neelakanta, "Maaya" is about extrasensory perception and is slated for release Aug 1. It is produced by filmmaker Madhura Sreedhar.

"Madhura sir is always creative when it comes it publicity, so this time he came up with the theme of dhoti dance. Our director wanted us to just let ourselves loose, enjoy and be silly. We thoroughly enjoyed doing the dhoti dance and I just hope people were able to recognize us in those costumes," Harshavardhan told IANS.

Harshavardhan and his co-stars danced to the song "Pokiri raja eelavesinadey".

"What I really loved about the theme of this song is that it's fun and it's totally contrary to the film which is very intelligent. I need to thank my director for giving us an opportunity to break into dance movements in a shopping mall," he added.
