Bombay Bunts Association distributes education aid

Mumbai, July 22: The education sub-committee of Bombay Bunts Association held their annual education aid distribution programme at Soumyalatha Shetty hall on Bunts Center road in Juyi city sector 24 of Navi Mumbai on Sunday July 20.

Association president Shyama N Shetty presided over the programme. Vinoda J Shetty, director of Pest Mortem (India) Ltd was the chief guest. Bharath Coach Builder Private Ltd executive president Sadashiva S Shetty, Navi Mumbai city retainer Santhosh D Shetty, Durga Dyes and Chemical's B N Shetty, Western Automobile's N C Shetty and others were present as guests of honour.


Young students, children of economically backward members of the community and physically challenged were distributed financial aid and some were adopted during the programme.

Education committee executive president Murali K Shetty welcomed and gave an introductory speech saying that the programme had started 25 years ago with the distribution of Rs 25,000 but this year Rs 16 lacs is being distributed. He said that the guidance of the office bearers of the association is note worthy. He thanked businessmen Shashikiran Shetty and Prabhakar J Shetty for having cooperated in the programme for the past many years.

Chief Guest Vinoda J Shetty spoke saying that education is the biggest asset and nobody can rob it. She said that in this era of competition, no amount of education is sufficient. She called upon students to realize the importance of education and become educated by devoting more time to it.

President Shyama Shetty thanked all those who had donated money for the programme. He said that the aid is being distributed after
pleading for contribution from the donors. He called upon the students to make use of the amount for the purpose for which it is given, get well educated and after obtaining suitable job to help the economically backward students.
 
Dr Surendra Vittal Shetty, scholar and social worker and holder of Doctorate of Philosophy in Social Work was felicitated during the
programme. 

Association vice president M B Vittal Rai, honorary chief secretary Chandrashekar S Shetty, honorary treasurer CA Surendra K Shetty, joint secretary B A Sadashiva Rai, women's wing executive president Sarala B Shetty, youth wing Chethan R Shetty, Babu Shetty and others were present.

Sumathi R Shetty led the prayer. Sarala B Shetty, Surendra Shetty, Sridhar K Shetty, M B Vittal Rai, Susheela Shetty and others introduced the guests.

Dayasagar Chouta compeered the programme while Chandrashekar S Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
