Mangalore, Jul 23: Dakshina Kannada District Youth Congress, in collaboration with Mangalore South Vidhana Sabha Constituency Youth Congress and Mangalore North Vidhana Sabha Constituency of Youth Congress, on Tuesday July 22, condemned the controversial meeting between Baba Ramdev aide Ved Pratap Vaidik and Jama't ud Da'wah chief and wanted terrorist Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan and lambasted the BJP-led NDA government for remaining silent on the issue.
Addressing the protest, Congress interim district president Ibrahim said, “BJP has not condemned the meet between Vaidik and Saeed. Within two months of forming the government, they have increased prices. People cannot afford vegetables or other food commodities for their daily needs. The BJP talks one thing and does another. It claimed that after the NDA government formation, good days will come; but people are witnessing only the price hike in diesel and railway tariff. The NDA government’s budget was in favour of the corporate world and not in favour of the common man. The Congress will condemn the meet between Vaidik and wanted terrorist Hafiz Saeed.”
Praveen Chandra Alva said, “The government should probe the mysterious meeting between Vaidik and Saeed in Pakistan. The Sangh Parivar is also silent on this issue. The Congress will condemn this meeting. Earlier, the BJP used to allege that the Congress had links with terrorists but now people have come to know who has links with terrorists. Baba Ramdev also had a key role in bringing the BJP to power.”
Mithun Rai, district president, Dakshina Kannada District Youth Congress, said, “Dakshina Kannada District Youth Congress will severely condemn the meeting between Vaidik and wanted terrorist Saeed in Pakistan. He is a wanted man, the brain behind the Mumbai attack. Then, the BJP used to preach about patriotism; now it is silent on Vaidik. The BJP is trying to break the integrity of this nation. If Vaidik once again meets Saeed, Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress will attack Yoga Guru Ramdev's institutions in Dakshina Kannada. There is no difference between the BJP and these pseudo magicians. The Youth Congress will protest till Vaidik is arrested.”
On this occasion, Nazir Bajal, Meril Rego, president, Mangalore South Vidhana Sabha Constituency Youth Congress, Girish Alva, president, Mangalore North Vidhana Sabha Constituency of Youth Congress, Veeresh Alva, and Ashith Pereira were present.
