Charkop Kannadigara Balaga appoints new office bearers

Mumbai, July 24: Charkop Kannadigara Balaga, a prestigious association of Tulu-Kannadigas of Kandivli, elected social worker and religious leader Manjunath G Bannur as their new president for the next three years from 2014 to 2017.

Balaga founder Jaya C Shetty, who worked for the all-round development of the association since the beginning, immediate past president Bhasker T Sarapadi and former honorary secretary M S Rao have continued as trustees.


MLA Gopala C Shetty was elected as the honorary president, M Krishna T Amin and M Krishna N Shetty as vice presidents, Raghunath N Shetty as honorary chief secretary, Gauri D Paniadi honorary treasurer, Vijaya D Poojary and Vasanthi U Salian, joint secretaries, Latha V Bangera and Sadashiva C Poojary joint treasurers, Ramesh Bangera, Ramesh P Kotian, Vanaja C Bhat, Chandrashekar S Shetty and Jaya Devadiga co-members, Ramesh K Shetty Payyaru, chief advisor, Thonse Vijaya Kumar Shetty chief advisor for personality development, Ramesh Shivapura chief cultural advisor and advocate Mohan Moily as chief legal advisor.

The office bearers of the sub-committees for all-round development are Ramesh Shetty (convenor), Karunakar Kannarapadi (secretary), Belmannu Chandrashekar S Shetty, convener of literature and cultural development committee, Roopa Bhat (secretary), Gopal Trasi (advisor), Sharad Shetty (convener of children's education and evolvment), Asha Vas (secretary), Ramesh P Kotian (convener of religious programme and anniversary celebrations), Ramesh P Bangera (secretary), Jaya Devadiga (convener of sports committee), Purandara Shetty (secretary), Women Wing's Padmavathi B Shetty (convener), Tanuja Bhat (secretary), Shamatha N Bhat (advisor), Youth Wing's Veena D Suvarna Sarapadi (convener) and Jannavi J Shetty (secretary).
