Mumbai model accuses police officer of rape

Mumbai, July 24 (IANS): Police in Mumbai Thursday booked an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer after a model accused him of raping her on several occasions, officials said.

Sunil Paraskar, deputy inspector general (DIG-protection of civil rights units), was charged with raping the woman while purportedly helping her.

A case was filed at the suburban Malwani police station in northwest Mumbai.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramesh Lohakare told media persons that "a first information report was lodged after a model complained she was sexually abused by Sunil Paraskar". He, however, declined to give more details.

The model alleged that Paraskar raped her when he was additional commissioner of police (north region), a few months ago, before he was transferred to the state police headquarters as DIG.

In her complaint, the woman said he raped her several times when she visited him with regard to some work, and submitted evidence of the sexual assault on her at a hotel in the suburbs.

State home ministry officials declined to comment on the issue, saying it was being investigated.

these are no the facts I believe. It's the twist women community has started making use of. It was happening for decades as many men where using such opportunities, either promising job, increments, better life style.. etc etc and using women as they wanted. Women who were objecting, were objecting in first attempt and escape from the trap. Many fall in trap and escape after realising it's a trap. But there were many who were enjoying compromising the situation and enjoying the returns... either getting wealth, financial aids, better job opportunities and all. There were going on and end of the line they fed up with each other and will separate themselves. But now it's a different story. The third category is utilizing the law and as soon as they realise there is a turn around by the same men, they file Rape case which is simple revenge they can take and easily trap the same men. There were hundreds of such cases if you really observe. So, no way they can file a case after several months and several instances. If it's immediate after the incident, yes, should be taken seriously. But after several months or after long time... then it's definitely a wrong file. Police can definitely investigate and derive the truth.
