Mangalore, Jul 25: The body of N Suresh (45), who had made a mark as a national level power lifter, was found floating in River Phalguni at Kulur here on Wednesday July 23. He was an employee of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.
Suresh had gone missing from his home since Monday evening, The policemen suspect that he would have accidentally slipped and fallen into the river. After he left his home near Suratkal for visiting Mangalore, he was not seen. Efforts made by people close to him to trace him by searching at various places had failed to yield the desired result.
Suresh was a successful sports person, having won several awards, including a gold medal in an international event held at Pune. A case stands registered relating to this death at Panambur station.
